Attractive & waterproof finish for wood:
MissPompadour To Stain - Wood Stain White
This wood stain creates a silky matte, velvety soft wood surface and preserves the grain of wood. The stain also offers wood protection against weather influences and cleaning agents. You determine the intensity and opacity of the colour shades yourself: The more layers of wood stain, the stronger the colour shade will be.
MissPompadour To Stain - Wood Stain White enhances the beauty of wood
Firstly, a white wood stain provides all wood outdoors with reliable protection against the elements. The stain is UV-resistant, so no yellowing occurs due to exposure to strong sunlight. Indoors, To Stain White protects wooden surfaces against mechanical stress and chemical damage caused by cleaning agents. The silky, smooth finish is pleasant to the touch and easy to maintain.
Our white stain not only protects the wood, but also creates a pleasing visual effect. With staining, you can achieve a light-coloured finish while leaving the wood grain visible. This preserves the natural beauty of the wood. You determine the depth of shade yourself: each coat intensifies the colour coat.
Various painting possibilities with a white wood stain
Does your wooden ceiling have that typical yellow hue that has been bothering you for a long time? But don't want to lose the natural wood effect by painting over it? Then To Stain White is the right choice. Paint the ceiling 1–2 times with this wax-based wood stain, depending on the desired colour intensity, and the yellow hue will be gone. Of course, this also applies to wooden stairs, doors and window frames. The stain only changes the wood tone, while the wood grain remains visible. With stairs, you can also apply MissPompadour To Seal after staining for extra surface protection.
Of course, you can also use a white stain to treat furniture such as tables, chairs, chests of drawers, and cabinets, or to paint a sauna (exterior). The character of the wood is always retained.
There are also many ways to work with a white stain outdoors. Why not bring more light to your patio by painting the beams of the pergola white? A wooden garage door, front door or fence doesn't have to stay brown either. The garden shed also looks much friendlier with a lighter-coloured finish. And the white remains white because the wood stains are UV-resistant.
Quick & easy protection of wooden surfaces with stain
Stain is very easy to apply. Firstly, as with all painting work, all surfaces must be thoroughly free of dust and grime. The best way to do this is to use our mild but extremely effective MissPompadour To Cleaner. Sand off any old wax. Wood should also be sanded evenly with fine sandpaper in the direction of the wood grain.
Then apply a thin, even coat of white MissPompadour Wood Stain. Use a flat brush such as the fine MissPompadour brush or a varnish roller. The low-odour wood stains are extremely fast-drying. After 20 minutes, the surface is already dust-dry, touch-dry after 1 hour and MissPompadour To Stain White can be painted over after 4 hours. It is advisable to apply 3 coats to exterior wood surfaces.1–2 coats are sufficient indoors. If you want to stain raw wood white, it is advisable to dilute the first coat with 5% water. This will prevent the stain from being absorbed too much. After the first coat, lightly sand the surface, as wood fibres are usually raised on untreated woods.
The stain coat will be stable after approx. 3 days. Our white wood stain can be refreshed or recoated at any time with any of the MissPompadour furniture paints.

Questions & answers about wood stains by MissPompadour
What is the difference between Wood stains and Wood varnish?
With a Wood stain, you can achieve a non-opaque yet even coat that does not hide the lively and natural look of wood. However, the colour pigments in the stain give the wood a different colour and can therefore also be changed stylistically. The surface continues to shine through, the stain is silky matt and protects against external influences such as weather, dirt and cleaning agents.
Wood lacquer, on the other hand, forms an opaque, pigmented layer on the surface of the wood. This changes the colour of the wood and the wood structure is no longer visible. Depending on the varnish quality, the surface becomes silky gloss or matt. Some wood varnishes also offer wood protection against weathering in outdoor areas.
MissPompadour Wood stains can be refreshed at any time later if necessary or painted over with water-based varnish.
How do I use MissPompadour To Stain - Wood Stain White inside?
MissPompadour To Stain is low-odour, water-soluble and low-VOC. The stain also dries extremely quickly. After cleaning, it should be applied 1-2 times when used for wood indoors. There should be a drying time of 4 hours between the first and second coat. Intermediate sanding may be necessary on untreated wood.
How do I use MissPompadour To Stain - Wood Stain White on the outside?
We recommend 3 coats for exterior areas. As To Stain dries very quickly, up to 3 coats can be applied per day. This is favourable for outdoor areas, as you can make perfect use of a day with good weather
