The MissPompadour Stencil Starry Sky
A pretty, decorative ornament on the wall is particularly suitable for a child's room. And pretty much all children love stars. That's why the many little stars of the stencil Starry Sky are just the right thing for your baby or children's room. You can apply the stars discreetly, almost tone-in-tone with the wall paint, or accentuate them clearly with a beautiful contrasting colour. From experience, however, small children particularly like the moon, which is shown here in a delicate crescent. This certainly provides plenty of material for bedtime stories.
The colour selection for applying the stencil Starry Sky on the wall
At the beginning of a stencilling job, there is always the colour selection. The colour of the pattern should contrast well in intensity with the base colour. With one exception: on the wall, it sometimes looks quite sophisticated if you work almost tone-in-tone, so that the pattern stands out only dimly from the base colour. This goes particularly well with the Shabby style. To do this, choose the colour shade of the base colour just a shade darker. Otherwise, however, we recommend a nice contrasting shade. Experienced artists can also try using two or three different colours with one stencil. After all, the stars in the sky do not all twinkle the same.
Working with the stencil Starry Sky
It is important that you always work perpendicularly when stencilling. It is best to draw a few horizontal, and possibly also vertical lines with a pencil on the wall or on the surface to be printed. If you are applying stars individually, you should mark the places on the wall where you want them to go beforehand. This will give you an idea of the overall impression. Then press the stencil onto the surface with the help of the contact points and dab paint vertically onto the stencil with the brush. It is very important that the brush does not contain too much paint. Otherwise paint can run behind the Starry Sky stencil and destroy the pattern.
