Areas of application for white interior wall paints
Walls can also be given an interesting design with white paint. All colours in the room stand out impressively against a white background. White wall paints can be used in any room.
Even small, darker rooms can benefit from a very light-coloured wall design. White paint is usually used on ceilings in particular, as a light-coloured ceiling visually raises the height of the room.
Wall paint in white: it's the opacity that counts
Especially with extremely light colour shades, it is important that the paint used has a high opacity. For example, there are often old coats of paint in intense, dark colour shades on plaster or woodchip or old wallpaper on the wall that are now to be painted over with a light colour. The white paint must therefore also be able to cover dark undercoats. It's a good thing that MissPompadour's wall paint The Valuable Wall Paint has opacity class 1. This means that after two coats, there is usually no trace of the previous colour.
Our wall paints in shades of white
One thing is certain: not all white is the same. In the MissPompadour Collection and also among the Little Pomp chalk paints, you will find a whole spectrum of interesting wall paintsin shades of white.
All shades of white at MissPompadour are available in two water-based wall paints. One is the high-quality ecological wall paint The Valuable Wall Paint. The Valuable Wall Paint is particularly impressive in white tones with its velvety, refined surface. It is particularly suitable for living rooms and bedrooms and anywhere where a particularly aesthetic effect is important. The Valuable Wall Paint is also a completely VOC-free and breathable colour. It is harmless to health and ensures a pleasant indoor climate.
A resistant, washable and abrasion-resistant paint is particularly useful for very light colour shades. This is why the second wall paint quality from MissPompadour is also called The Functional Wall Paint. It fulfils all these requirements and scores highly with its enormous wet abrasion resistance. The Functional Wall Paint is used wherever white wall paints are exposed to particular stresses. It is suitable for corridors and stairwells, kitchens and bathrooms and anywhere in commercial areas with a lot of public traffic.
Little Pomp chalk-paint also comes in three soft shades of white, which are not just suitable for children's rooms: White & Bright, White & True and White & Friendly. LittlePomp chalk paints are particularly suitable for children's rooms. Its water-soluble colours are VOC-free and so harmless to health that they can also be used by pregnant women without any problems. The fifteen soft colour shades in the collection, including the white tones, have been created with children's psychology in mind.
Combining white colour
Hardly anyone wants to design their walls in a completely clear, untinted white colour. This is because clear white can easily create a very harsh impression and contrast too strongly with other colour shades. Slightly tinted white wall paints are more cosy and aesthetic. They remain white, but allow the eye to gently recover from too much brightness. Depending on which colour shade on another wall, wallpaper or home textiles such as upholstered furniture or curtains a white shade is to be combined with, it is important to pay attention to which pigments it is tinted with.
There are shades of white that contain a little yellow pigment. These include White with Sun and the tangy White with Ginger. But there are also white shades with warm, beige pigments such as White with Marble or White with Vanilla. But even a hint of the lightest grey, as in White with Character, or delicate red or green, as in White with Powder or White with Linden Green, create very different moods. This is because our eyes unconsciously create a connection between the pigments in the white interior wall paint and the other colours in the room. This creates a harmonious overall impression.

Frequently asked questions about white wall paints
- Doesn't a wall painted white look slightly cold?
That depends on the shade of white you choose. White with Marble or White with Sun, for example, conjure up a friendly atmosphere in any room. - Why are there different shades of white wall paint?
The pigments added to a pure white shade can create harmonious connections with other colours in the room and help to avoid harsh contrasts. - Can I be sure that I can also paint over dark walls with a white colour?
Yes, the MissPompadour wall paint quality The Valuable Wall Paint and the LittlePomp chalk paints have opacity class 1. - If I want to use white wall paints, do I always have to prime them first?
No, two coats are normally enough to ensure good coverage. Exceptions to this are heavy stains on the wall or porous plaster. In this case, we recommend priming with MissPompadour To Primer Walls before painting. - Isn't white wall paint very sensitive to soiling?
If The Functional Wall Paint is used, the walls can be washed off without any problems. Even stubborn stains can be removed.
