Tile paint in turquoise: fresh and vibrant
If you want to achieve a particularly fresh and lively look in your room with attractive colours, use paint in the colour turquoise. Turquoise is a colour between blue and green. Cool blue and warm green form a congenial combination with coloured lacquer in turquoise tones. These colour shades are particularly good for designing a bathroom. Turquoise blue, such as MissPompadour Dark Blue with Green, and turquoise green, such as Green with Emerald, are aqua shades. And they go particularly well in rooms that are intended to radiate maritime chic.
Painting tiles turquoise - is that even possible?
Are you wondering whether it's really easy to paint over a tiled surface? Yes, with the right tile paint, it's no problem! However, there are a few things you should bear in mind before applying the tile paint.
Firstly, the tiles must be carefully cleaned. The best cleaner to use is the mild but effective MissPompadour To Cleaner. All dust, dirt, grease and limescale residue should be removed from the tiles. Avoid aggressive, chlorinated or highly alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning. Residues of these could accumulate in the rough joints and later destroy your coat of turquoise paint.
Many tiles have silicone expansion joints. And paint cannot adhere to silicone. You should therefore seal the silicone joints with a suitable primer. Simply apply To Seal Silicone to the silicone with a thin brush.
Then prime the entire surface to be painted with a primer. Painting with To Bond & Block ensures that the varnish adheres even to very smooth surfaces. The primer also gives your paint better coverage, especially if you want to paint over patterned tiles.
Once the surfaces have dried, you can start painting your tile paint in turquoise. Paint the larger surfaces with Rollerrs and use a brush for the joints. Once the first coat has dried, you should paint the surface a second time. Two coats will make the varnish more stable and develop its beautiful, silky matt surface texture.
Finally, you should apply an additional protective layer to surfaces subject to heavy wear, such as floor tiles. MissPompadour To Seal makes your coating even harder and more resistant to knocks and scratches.
Paint tiles turquoise with this varnish
MissPompadour offers a varnish quality with which you can paint tiles beautifully. This tile paint is called Eggshell Varnish. There is a large selection of colours for this tile paint, so you are sure to find the ideal varnish among the more than 90 colour shades. The tile varnish is impact-resistant and resistant to scratches. It is easy to clean and also tolerates cleaning with cleaning agents well. Its semi-gloss surface brings out the best in turquoise colour shades in particular. To match the tile paint, the same colour shade is also available as turquoise wall paint, so that a colour combination of coloured paint on wall tiles in turquoise with the wall or ceiling is possible.
MissPompadour tile paint has excellent water resistance. Water running down the wall tiles will not harm it, especially if you also finish the coat with To Seal. Only standing water should be avoided. It is therefore not suitable for floor tiles in the shower or outdoors. Eggshell Varnish adheres to almost all tiles, although there are a few exceptions: Waxed or otherwise impregnated tiles cannot usually be painted, nor can tiles with a lotus effect.
Turquoise blue to turquoise green: versatile use of tile paint
Turquoise not only creates a great wellness atmosphere, but can also put us in a holiday mood, especially in combination with bright blue and white with White. Anyone who has ever been to Andalusia remembers the fantastic painted tiles in these colours. With the MissPompadour stencils, you can easily create these almost oriental patterns yourself.
Turquoise tile colour for a seaside atmosphere in the bathroom
Do you want a bathroom that puts a smile on your face as soon as you enter in the morning? Then why not paint at least part of your wall tiles with varnish in a beautiful turquoise colour such as Green with Ocean. Then add a colour like Beige with Sand and you'll have a real holiday atmosphere in your bathroom. You can also design the floor tiles with turquoise and light brown tones. However, don't forget to carefully remove any limescale residue in the bathroom before painting and finish off with To Seal.
Painting tiles in the kitchen turquoise
If your kitchen has a tiled splashback, you can emphasise it with a fresh turquoise blue. Try combining turquoise coloured paint with brown natural wood tones. A colour like Green with Lagoon will add pizzazz to any kitchen. Maybe add a few bold orange accents. In the kitchen, it's important to carefully remove any grease residue so that the primer and varnish can adhere. And as a tiled splashback is often cleaned with cleaning products, it makes sense to additionally stabilise the surface with MissPompadour To Seal after painting with the varnish.
Set accents on floor tiles with turquoise
Not only in the bathroom, but also in the entrance area, you can decorate your floor tiles with varnishes in turquoise green or turquoise blue. Here, too, it's a good idea to work with stencils and several colours. This makes street dust less noticeable. At MissPompadour you will find a large selection of interesting stencils and the right colour shades of varnish. Perhaps you could combine the velvety Green with Teal with the bright Green with Turquoise? Finally, you should finish the varnish on the floor with MissPompadour To Seal.
Order turquoise tile paint from MissPompadour
MissPompadour offers a beautiful selection of turquoise varnish: there is the beautiful colour shade Green with Turquoise. It has the colour of the semi-precious stone that gave the colour shade its name. But Green with Ocean is also a sophisticated shade of turquoise that has a slightly more muted effect thanks to its grey colour components. The strong Green with Lagoon has an intense effect, a colour shade that should be used discreetly on the wall. The light Green with Glacier is very delicate, and the fresh Green with South Sea is a little greener but also light in colour.
It's best to order a set of colour cards first. The postcard-sized colour cards can be taken out individually. You can pin them up anywhere and compare them in any light. Frequently asked questions & answers about turquoise tile paint
- How well do turquoise varnishes cover?
Turquoise varnishes from MissPompadour cover very well. However, you should still apply the varnishes twice, as the colours then shine particularly beautifully and the durability is increased by the double layer thickness. - How long does turquoise tile paint last on the floor?
There is no general answer as to how long turquoise varnishes will last on the floor. The durability depends on the wear and tear on the floor. Please note that Eggshell Varnish is splash-proof but cannot withstand standing water. In any case, we recommend stabilising the varnish on the floor with MissPompadour To Seal at the end.
