Tile paint pink: colour nuances for different effects
Before you tackle a project like tile painting, you will probably have a few questions about the application of tile paint. Will the varnish adhere to the very smooth surfaces of the tiles? The answer is a resounding yes!
There are very few tiles on which varnish will not adhere: Waxed or otherwise impregnated tiles usually cannot be painted, nor can tiles with a lotus effect. Therefore, make sure that your tiles are not among the exceptions before you order varnishes. If you also pay attention to a few other things, your project is sure to be a success. As always with MissPompadour: just paint!
You can paint over tiles with this varnish
MissPompadour offers a paint quality that is fantastic for painting tiles. This tile paint is called Eggshell-varnish. The semi-gloss varnish is available in over 90 colour shades, including rosé and pink, of course.
It is important that you clean the tiles thoroughly first. In the bathroom, all dust, dirt and, above all, limescale residue must be carefully removed. The best way to do this is with MissPompadour To Clean. The mild cleaner cleans efficiently and is gentle on your skin. If you want to clean a tiled splashback in the kitchen, pay particular attention to the light grease vapour that forms in every kitchen during cooking and settles everywhere. To Clean, never use aggressive, chlorinated or highly alkaline cleaning agents. Their residues could settle in the rough tile joints and destroy your tile coating.
Silicone grouting is often used in bathrooms in particular. And, as we all know, no paint sticks to silicone. Fortunately, there is a helpful primer from MissPompadour for this: apply To Seal Silicone to the silicone joints with a brush. You can then continue with the actual primer or varnish.
To ensure that the tile varnish adheres to the smooth surface of the tiles, a primer must be applied to the surfaces before applying the pink varnish. MissPompadour To Bond & Block is the right choice here. The primer creates a perfect base with an even colour, even with heavily patterned tiles and pale pink tile paint. This increases the opacity of the tile paint and allows the colour to adhere perfectly to the floor or wall.
The tile paint is then applied twice. The result is an elegant, silky matt surface that is easy to maintain. Some surfaces, such as floor tiles, should also be sealed at the end. An extra protective layer of To Seal makes the coating even more durable.
From pale pink to pink: tile paint for many rooms
The colour pink has many facets. If you add some beige or brown pigment to a delicate pink, you get a soft, light colour like Rose with Peach Blossom. If you use strong pinks like Pink with Peony, these colours can make a real statement on tiles. If you add a little blue to light pink, you get a cool pastel tone. And if you add a good dash of brown to pink, you get cosy tones like Rose with Brown through to strong old pink power colours. But grey pigment can also completely change pink: A soft, feminine colour becomes a matter-of-fact, interesting colour shade.
Use pink tile colour skilfully in the bathroom
Choose the soft, understated light pink of Rose with Warmth for your bathroom tiles to conjure up a beautiful, calm wellness atmosphere in the bathroom. Combine with some of the tiles in black. This will give you a nostalgic 50s ambience. Pink colours can also be combined well with each other. Opt for light pink tile paint on the wall tiles and complement with a dark old pink on the floor tiles. Shades of brown with reddish colour tones also go well with pink varnish.
Eggshell Varnishes are splash-proof, making them ideal for bathroom tiles. For wall tiles in the shower, we recommend additionally reinforcing them with To Seal, just like floor tiles. Eggshell Varnish, however, does not tolerate standing water and is therefore not suitable for floor tiles in the shower.
Accents with pink tile paint in the kitchen
Pink in the kitchen? Some people initially shrug it off. But it's a great idea to paint the tiling in this room with pink tile paint. You can also choose a tone-on-tone tile paint with the wall paint. This is because all tile paints are also available in wall paintn quality. Pink tile paint and, of course, pink wall paint go particularly well with dark natural wood kitchens.
A colour shade like Rose with Brown brings a retro feel to your kitchen. As the backsplash, where you cook and wash up, often comes into contact with water and grease, you should also stabilise the tile colour there. Use MissPompadour To Seal for this. It does not change the colour shade of your tile paint, but makes it resistant to mechanical and chemical stress.
Paint tiles in the entrance area pink
If you want to give your guests and anyone entering the house a warm welcome, why not give them a warm pink colour? This is suitable as wall paint and also on the floor tiles. Maybe print a pattern on your tiles. Use the MissPompadour stencils for this. You can combine 3 different shades of tile colour for the pattern. This way, you won't see every crumb of earth that is carried into the house. Just remember to stabilise your paint with To Seal at the end, because tiles in the entrance area are exposed to particular stresses and it is important that you give floor tiles additional protection.
