Varnishes in yellow for a variety of surfaces
Yellow is one of the three primary colours and is initially ambivalent in its effect. On the one hand, yellow is associated with joy, warmth and light; on the other hand, it is also a signal colour that indicates danger. Yellow occurs in nature in a wide variety of colour gradations. This colour can be found on summer flowers such as dandelions or on yellow autumn leaves, and of course in warm sunlight. But dark yellow tones such as amber, sand or straw can also be found in nature.
First and foremost, we associate yellow with vitality and creativity. That's why it's always a good idea to use yellow paint in our homes. Yellow paint can be used in any room, depending on how intense the yellow colour shades used are. Yellow wall paints are also very popular. Depending on the degree of brightness, yellow paint can have a very different colour effect. A warm yellow can create a good mood in the bathroom as well as in the kitchen. In hallways and entrance areas, which are often not well lit, a beautiful shade of yellow offers all guests a warm welcome.
MissPompadour offers 3 lacquer variants in yellow colour shades. The first is the extremely stable and easy-care Eggshell Varnish. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Eggshell Varnish creates silky matt, smooth surfaces. There is also the yellow matt varnish Matt Varnish. This varnish variant gives you powdery, velvety surfaces that look fantastic, especially with light yellow colours. Matt Varnish is for indoor use only. Both varnishes are low-odour.
Last but not least, MissPompadour offers a beautiful shade of yellow in chalk varnish quality in its LittlePomp children's collection. The warm, friendly colour shade is called Yellow & Creative. The varnish is not only suitable for furniture in the children's room and children's toys, but also inspires many adults.
Paint wooden furniture yellow with varnish
Wooden furniture can be painted in any shade of yellow. You can accentuate furniture such as chests of drawers in the living room with a strong yellow such as MissPompadour Yellow with Lemon. A soft pastel yellow on bedroom furniture gives the whole room a cheerful touch. If you want to avoid the eternal pink and sky blue in the children's room, why not paint the changing table, wardrobe and chests of drawers with a yellow furniture paint such as the soft LittlePomp Yellow & Creative. You can then paint children's toys tone-on-tone to match, which would otherwise not blend in with the colour scheme of the room.
With oak and tropical wood, you should bear in mind that these woods often release tannins after years. This is called bleeding. To prevent this from distorting your beautiful yellow tone, you should pre-coat wooden surfaces with MissPompadour To Bond & Block. Even if your wood has a lot of dark spots and knotholes, as is often the case with pine wood, for example, you should first prepare the surface for painting with your yellow wood colour by priming it.
Yellow paint colour on metal
A metal surface can also be easily painted with yellow varnish. For example, you can paint a metal radiator in the same colour as the wall behind it. Perhaps you have an old desk lamp whose varnish is no longer nice? Doors in a dark basement can also literally bring sunshine into the room when painted a bright yellow colour. Simply repaint them with a strong colour like MissPompadour Paint Yellow with Saffron!
Then use a primer like To Bond & Block on such smooth surfaces so that your yellow varnish adheres securely. If the metal is already rusty, sand off the rust well and use a rust protection primer before priming.
Embellish plastic with yellow varnishes
Furniture often has a wooden look which, on closer inspection, turns out to be plastic or rigid PVC. With MissPompadour Paints, you can paint all plastic surfaces in yellow colours. So if you no longer like the colour of your IKEA high-gloss kitchen, painting over it is no problem - just use the To Bond & Block primer under the Eggshell Varnish paint so that the paint can adhere well. The fact that the paints and varnishes from MissPompadour are low-odour is an advantage, especially indoors and particularly in children's rooms.
Painting tiles, stone and concrete yellow
But it's not just plastics and rigid PVC that you can paint with yellow colours. The colours also adhere to stone, tiles and even concrete. Why not paint your kitchen backsplash in a yellow tile paint such as MissPompadour Yellow with Sun? This paint will bathe your entire kitchen in a friendly light. A windowless guest WC can become an oasis of well-being with tiles in pastel yellow. Yellow varnish also has a fresh and invigorating effect in the bathroom. Our Eggshell Varnish is the perfect varnish for tiles, stone and concrete. It is impact-resistant and washable.
Even if you want to paint tiles, stone or concrete, you must not forget the To Bond & Block primer. A primer creates a perfectly even surface that prepares your coat of yellow varnish perfectly. If you are painting floor tiles, finish the coat with a layer of MissPompadour To Seal. The topcoat will protect your heavily used tiles even better.
Outdoor varnishes in yellow
For outdoor areas, you should only use the MissPompadour Eggshell Varnish quality. If you want to paint your garden furniture made of plastic, wood or metal with a yellow colour, this paint variant is ideal. Eggshell Varnish is also suitable for painting a garden shed. It impresses with its enormous colour stability, as it is weatherproof and robust.

Frequently asked questions and answers about yellow varnish
- How well does yellow varnish cover?
Yellow colours are not unproblematic in terms of coverage. You may need 1 to 2 coats more than with other colours. We therefore recommend priming with To Bond & Block in any case. This creates an even base for your yellow varnish.
