Areas of application for turquoise varnishes
All lighter colour shades between green and blue are referred to as turquoise. The colour takes its name from a rather rare mineral. Stones made from this mineral are valuable and are therefore used exclusively as gemstones. There is a wide range of turquoise colour shades, from very delicate, light tones to bright, intense colours.
In colour psychology, turquoise stands for cheerfulness and clarity of thought. It controls emotions and creates emotional balance. Turquoise radiates the calm, serenity and seriousness of blue, but combines aspects of green such as endurance, autonomy and health of mind and body. Turquoise colour shades create an effect that is both relaxing and refreshing and invigorating. This is why turquoise colour shades can be used to create wonderful accents. The effect of turquoise on surfaces ultimately depends on the brightness and composition of the colour shade.

Turquoise varnishes for wooden furniture
Turquoise blue or turquoise green varnish is perfect for anyone who wants to add a splash of colour but doesn't want to paint an entire room. The RAL system distinguishes between five different shades of turquoise: turquoise blue, turquoise green, light turquoise, mint turquoise, which also tends towards the green colour spectrum, and turquoise pastel.
To paint furniture, it is best to use turquoise wood varnish. You can use the washable and impact-resistant quality Eggshell Varnish as a wood varnish for furniture that is subject to heavy use, such as tables and chairs. For more decorative pieces that need a completely matt surface, use Matt Varnish. And if you want to use chalk paints, our LittlePompchalk varnishes are the right choice.
Once you have decided on the quality of your wood paint and found the right colour shade, you can paint any piece of furniture with wooden surfaces in turquoise wood paint. Against a darker background, furniture finished with green-blue coloured paint such as Green with Turquoise looks particularly vibrant.
Your painting surface should be reasonably monochrome and not have any strong stains or knotholes. It is better to prime such surfaces with a primer. We recommend the use of MissPompadour To Bond & Block. This primer creates an even surface on which you can also paint light colours. Untreated wood should also always be primed as a first step to prevent stains caused by bleeding of the wood.
Turquoise varnish on metal and plastic
Varnishes in turquoise are not only suitable for use on wood. The coloured lacquer also adheres to PVC or metal, and furniture that appears to have wooden surfaces at first glance often has a plastic veneer. You can also use turquoise furniture lacquer on plastic surfaces.
For plastic surfaces, you should prepare the substrate with a primer such as To Bond & Block for the coat of coloured lacquer so that it can adhere well. This also applies if you want to paint doors and surfaces of kitchen furniture made of rigid PVC. You can even paint high-gloss kitchen fronts after applying a coat of our primer. Green with Glacier, for example, is a light turquoise colour that has already enchanted a number of kitchens.
But coloured lacquer in turquoise colours can also be used on metal. You may want to paint a metal radiator in the same colour as the wall behind it. You should then finish the radiator with the matt varnish variant MissPompadour Matt Varnish . The surface of these varnishes resembles the look of the wall paints.
If you are painting metal, you should also prime it first with To Bond & Block so that the paint can adhere well to the smooth surface. If the metal is rusty, sand off the rust well and use a rust protection primer before applying the primer.
Turquoise varnish on tiles, stone and concrete
For bathroom tiles on the wall or floor, the MissPompadour Eggshell Varnishes colour range includes turquoise shades that can transform a normal bathroom into a veritable temple of wellness. Green with Aqua, for example, brings the freshness of a mountain lake into your bathroom.
The surfaces of the tiles are first treated with To Bond & Block so that the tile paint in turquoise can adhere well. The coloured lacquer, which fortunately has a low odour, is then applied. If you are painting floor tiles, finish the coating with a coat of To Seal. This topcoat additionally strengthens heavily used surfaces and keeps them looking good for longer.
Want to give a boring concrete wall a new, fresh look? How about simply painting it with coloured paint in a beautiful, intense blue-green shade like Green with Lagoon? Incidentally, the Eggshell Varnishes from MissPompadour not only work indoors, but also outdoors.
Outdoor varnish: using turquoise outdoors
Varnishes in turquoise tones can also beautify window frames or front doors. Varnish in turquoise blue literally gives any house a fresh coat of paint. How about painting a garage door a friendly turquoise blue? A garden shed can also be redesigned with a colour shade like Green with Ocean. Why not paint your garden furniture in the same colour shade? You will find that varnish in turquoise also creates a cheerful mood outdoors. Colour scheme of varnishes in turquoise at MissPompadour
At MissPompadour, you can find varnishes in many different shades of turquoise and petrol. The bright Green with South Sea is very bright. This cheerful colour shade is reminiscent of the sea in the Caribbean and is perfect for a bathroom or wellness area. Green with Mint is a turquoise shade that also tends more towards green. Thanks to its yellow colour components, this shade does not have a cool effect, but is a very cheerful colour.
More turquoise blue is Green with Turquoise. This intense, bright colour shade shows the colour of the semi-precious stone that bears turquoise in its name. Green with Teal is a very dark turquoise blue. This rich aqua shade is popular as a varnish because it is particularly suitable for the front door or garage door. Less turquoise blue than turquoise green is the bright Green with Emerald, a green colour shade with many blue components. A petrol shade such as Dark Blue with Green is also suitable as a combination colour for turquoise tones.
All varnishes in the MissPompadour collection are available in 2 qualities: Matt Varnish creates powdery matt surfaces that are perfect for the used look. Eggshell Varnish has a slight shimmer and is extremely hard-wearing. It is the first choice for heavily used surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom.
MissPompadour has developed its own chalk varnish collection for children's rooms. Every colour shade in our LittlePomp collection has been developed with children's psychology in mind. The delicate shades also include a very light, soft turquoise colour. Green & Magical is a colour that will delight boys, girls and their parents alike. As the chalk varnishes are low-odour and saliva-resistant, you can also paint children's toys with the coloured paint in soft turquoise.
