Violet as a varnish for many surfaces
Purple is also called violet in German. Purple, or violet, is always a colour shade between red and blue. If the colour is mixed with a lot of white, it is also called lilac. If purple contains more red than blue, it is called magenta.
Shades of purple include pale lavender as well as warm berry tones, aubergine and purple. It was once reserved exclusively for secular and ecclesiastical dignitaries. It is also the colour of feminism, as purple combines pink and blue.
Purple's complementary colour is yellow, so if you want to bring purple into your home, it's a good idea to start by painting a smaller piece of furniture with purple furniture paint. Purple accents actually suit every room.
MissPompadour offers 2 different lacquer variants in all shades of purple in the Collection. The first lacquer quality is Eggshell Varnish. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It gives you an extremely hard-wearing and easy-care surface with a silky matt look. With the second lacquer variant, Matt Varnish, you can create a completely matt surface with an elegant, velvety finish. It is for indoor use. There is also the beautiful chalk varnish from the MissPompadour LittlePomp children's collection
These colour shades are also available as purple wall paints. At MissPompadour, you can not only order furniture varnish, varnishes for painting metal, stone and rigid PVC in interesting shades of purple. MissPompadour also offers you other products that make pretreating and finishing your paint job easier.
Paint wooden furniture purple with varnish
In the living room, a piece of furniture with purple furniture paint can attract everyone's attention. But you can also set purple accents in the bedroom by painting the bedside cabinets with furniture lacquer in a warm berry shade such as MissPompadour Purple with Blueberry.
Furniture lacquer in a soft purple also creates a wonderful atmosphere in the baby or children's room and saves you having to choose between the colours pink and sky blue. You'll find the perfect shade among the LittlePomp chalk varnishes with Purple & Soft.
If the walls in a room are painted purple, painting the doors tone-on-tone with the same colour shade has an absolutely sophisticated effect, but then of course not with wall paint, but in a furniture paint quality. Varnish in violet is also well suited for wall panelling.
Raw wood can be painted wonderfully with violet furniture lacquer. If your wood has dark stains, as is often the case with pine, you should prepare your coat of furniture lacquer with a primer. MissPompadour To Bond & Block is an excellent choice. Priming before painting is also a good idea for woods such as oak or tropical wood, which often release tannins and bleed even after years. This creates a secure base for your violet colour.
If your furniture has already been painted, you can simply apply furniture paint in the new purple colour shade over the old paint without sanding . However, if the old varnish is damaged and peeling, it must be sanded off before applying the purple colour.
Violet varnish on metal
Metal can also be given a great purple coat with the paint colours from MissPompadour. This applies not only to metal furniture, but also to a radiator. Simply paint it in the same paint colour as the wall behind it. You will see that the radiator almost disappears into the wall.
Here, too, it is a good idea to prepare with To Bond & Block primer so that the paint can adhere well to the smooth surface. If your metal is already rusty, sand off the rust well as a first step and apply a suitable rust protection primer before priming.
Embellish plastic with varnish in purple
The treatment of plastic surfaces always raises questions. MissPompadour varnishes also adhere to plastic without any problems. So you can simply paint your old IKEA kitchen, even if it has a high-gloss finish! Large built-in cupboards in the bathroom or bedroom can also be remodelled.
If you want to paint a piece of furniture with a hard PVC veneer in a purple colour, you should first treat the surface with a primer. MissPompadour To Bond & Block ensures perfect adhesion of furniture paints in violet tones, even on a smooth surface.
Violet lacquer colour on tiles, stone and concrete
You can also use MissPompadour Eggshell Varnish on stone window sills or exposed brickwork. This varnish is also a perfect tile paint, stable and, unlike conventional tile paints, also low-odour. Perhaps you would like to design your bathroom with violet varnish. A friendly, light lilac colour such as Purple with Lavender on the tiles creates a calm, slightly dreamy mood in the bathroom.
Smooth surfaces should be pre-treated with To Bond & Block primer. For tiles on the floor , in addition to pre-treatment with primer, the paint coat must be stabilised with a topcoat at the end. Our To Seal provides additional protection for the varnish and a subtle matt finish.
Tiles can be embellished wonderfully with a MissPompadour Stencils, especially with purple colour shades. Combine colours in a light and a dark shade of purple.
Skilfully showcase outdoor varnishes in purple
Purple is not only a theme indoors. Many an outdoor surface can also be designed with purple colour. After all, nature shows us how, if you consider how many flowers there are in purple colours. How about painting a front door in a beautiful berry colour? This would go well with a white façade and white window frames.
The paint colours in the Eggshell Varnish quality are ideal for outdoor use. They are weatherproof and durable. Why not paint your garden furniture or a garden shed in a completely different colour, namely Purple with Provence. You'll see how well purple colour shades blend in with nature.
