White and its effect
Sometimes it just has to be white. Be it that you want to use it as a combination colour, be it that you want to place a white piece of furniture in front of a vividly patterned wallpaper. Or that a large, currently dark cupboard should be given a more inconspicuous effect. White colour reflects the light strongly and thus creates brightness. You can achieve great effects with white chalk paint, especially if a pure white colour is tinted a little. White chalk paint is matt and creates a look like in the old days. White always makes other colours look particularly expressive. Just be careful not to create any overly harsh contrasts with a white surface.
The variety of white chalk paints
At MissPompadour, you can find different colour shades of white among the chalk paints in the CosyColours collection and in the LittlePomp collection.
The CosyColours colour shades include a very clear white that is completely pigment-free: Simply White. If you want a very white, light, almost white-bright colour application, Simply White is the right choice for you. This white chalk paint creates a matt, elegant surface that softens the colour shade, which is very light in itself.
With the delicate True White, a little grey pigment softens the brightness of the colour, creating a colour shade with a powdery appearance for elegant surfaces. This avoids harsh contrasts when combined with grey and anthracite tones.
Another white shade in the CosyColours collection is Fresh White. With Fresh White, you can create a wonderful, natural atmosphere. The fresh colour shade has a warm appearance thanks to the subtle addition of grey and yellow pigments.
With its beige colour components, the light, warm Wool Blanket Beige is also almost a shade of white. It could best be described as "wool white".
There is also a white colour without any pigments among the white chalk paints in the LittlePomp collection. The LittlePomp White & Bright chalk paint from the MissPompadour colour world is a clear, bright shade of white. If you want your white to be really bright and completely neutral, LittlePomp White & Bright is your perfect colour shade.
LittlePomp White & True is a very soft, white chalk paint. You could also call it cream. The sparing use of beige pigments makes this white colour look warm and inviting. LittlePomp White & True is very light in colour, but does not appear harsh. This chalk paint also complements many other colours perfectly.
LittlePomp White & Friendly is a white to which yellow pigments have been added. These give this colour shade its warm, inviting appearance. This shade of white from the MissPompadour colour world is very bright and fresh and has a soft radiance.
White chalk paint: painting furniture, walls & more
CosyColours chalk paints are paint colours that are suitable for use on wooden surfaces or metal, on wooden doors and window frames. However, you can also paint CosyColours chalk paints on tiles, concrete, plastics and plastic veneers that are subject to little wear. Almost all materials can be treated with White with White chalk paint.
LittlePomp chalk paints are available in 2 qualities: Both as a paint colour and as a wall paint. Both are water-based. This allows for interesting tone-on-tone combinations of white chalk paint on furniture and walls.
Design ideas with White with White chalk paint
Why should you actually choose chalk paint for white paint? It has many advantages:
- The natural, matt look: chalk paint has a different finish to other colours. The small chalk particles in the paint reflect the light in a very special way. This creates the matt, velvety look that can only be achieved with chalk paint and makes the white colour shades in particular shine.
- Chalk paint is easy to apply: It dries exceptionally quickly and has a high opacity. Normally, 2 coats of chalk paint are sufficient. However, white colours that do not contain any pigments at all are more difficult to apply. Here the opacity is not as high and several coats may be necessary.Raw wood does not need to be sanded. For very smooth surfaces such as plastic veneer or glass, it is advisable to apply a primer first. With MissPompadour To Bond & Block, you create a surface on which the chalk paint will always adhere securely.
- Chalk paint is environmentally friendly:White chalk-paint is environmentally friendly and harmless to health because it is water-based. Chalk paint mainly contains water, chalk and pigments. During painting and drying, our chalk paint does not release any volatile compounds (VOCs) and therefore does not emit any odours into the environment during application. This makes it particularly suitable for indoor use in your home.
- Chalk paint is easy to maintain: Surfaces finished with it can simply be wet wiped. If you expect the surfaces to be subject to heavy wear and tear, such as on stairs or kitchen furniture, you can additionally stabilise them with MissPompadour To Seal.
- White chalk paint for a great shabby chic look: If you want to finish furniture in a shabby chic style, white paint in chalk quality is ideal. The slightly rough, rustic surface of white chalk paint has its own charm and chalk paint in antique white tones goes particularly well with an authentic vintage look. Choose different colour shades from the white colour scheme for a shabby chic look. White chalk paint is also the right choice for a country house style interior.
