Areas of application for green varnish
Apart from walls, where green wall paint is used, there is almost no object in the home or outdoors that cannot be treated with green paint. Whether the object is made of wood, such as furniture or stairs, or metal , such as garden furniture or fridges and radiators, it is always possible to give surfaces a new colour with paint, making them more durable and hard-wearing.
But you can also paint other materials such as wall and floor tiles with green tile paint. Tiled stoves, stone and concrete surfaces benefit from a new coat of paint. And last but not least, you can also use varnish to change plastic objects or plastic veneer or textiles and leather on upholstered furniture and lampshades. There are no limits to your creativity if you want to beautify your home with varnishes.
Green wood varnish as a furniture colour
Green wood paint is a popular choice for both indoor and outdoor furniture. The variety of green colours at MissPompadour Paint allows for creative design. From the rich dark green of Green with Forest to the light grey moss green of Green with Moss to the light sage green of Green with Sage - MissPompadour offers a large selection of green wood paint. Use it to paint small items such as a side table - or start a big project like repainting your kitchen or a built-in cupboard. If you are painting unpainted wood, you should prime with To Bond & Block to prevent the wood's tannins from bleeding into your new coat.
Green varnish for painting metal
Green coloured paint can be used not only on wood, but also on many other surfaces. Metal doors or radiators can also be embellished with green colours such as moss green or dark green. Light, fresh shades of green such as Green with Apple or Green with Glass can also be used to embellish metal objects.
For metal surfaces, it is advisable to work with a primer such as MissPompadour To Bond & Block. This helps the colour to adhere well. If you are painting metal that is already rusty, it must be sanded down well and also pre-treated with a rust protection primer.
Green varnishes on plastics
It's not just wooden furniture or metal surfaces that can be transformed with green paint using MissPompadour Paints. Plastic surfaces on window frames, doors, plastic-veneered furniture and all surfaces made of rigid PVC can also be embellished with the green coloured paint. Tired of the high-gloss look of your kitchen units? No problem - repaint it in your favourite colour! As plastic surfaces are often very smooth, you should prime them with To Bond & Block primer. This allows the coloured paint to adhere well.
Paint tiles, stone and concrete with coloured paint in green
A coat of dark green, moss green or sage green can also give your wall and floor tiles a completely new look. Exposed stonework or stone stairs also benefit from a new coat of green paint. If you are painting large areas, it is also worth spraying the primer and then the paint with a paint sprayer.
Green coloured paint for indoors and outdoors
The Eggshell Varnish quality from MissPompadour is suitable for indoors and outdoors. Just note that the varnish does not tolerate standing water. However, it is perfect for finishing a garden shed, fence or garage door with green coloured varnish. Exterior doors such as front doors or the outer frames of windows also look particularly elegant with this outdoor varnish in dark green, such as Green with Black.
Large selection of green varnishes at MissPompadour
MissPompadour offers a wide range of varnishes in attractive shades of green, starting with the very light White with Linden Green and the delicate yellowish Green with Birch. A little cooler, but also very light, is the beautiful pastel shade Green with Glacier. The fresh Green with Aqua is even cooler, while Green with Mint is more intense and Green with Lime and Green with Grass are more yellow in colour. Green with Matcha and Green with Frog are expressive and strong, while the elegant Green with Jade is a more subdued colour shade. Green with Grey, Green with Olive and the balanced water colour shade Green with Ocean are also calm green shades, while Green with Emerald and Green with Lagoon are bright and intense. And the brownish Green with Mud and the extremely dark Green with Black appear very dark.
Order matt and semi-matt varnishes from MissPompadour
MissPompadour offers different varnishes. All varnishes in the MissPompadour collection are available in two qualities: Eggshell Varnish is a slightly shimmering varnish that is very easy to care for and is equally suitable for exterior and interior painting. It is also the right choice if tiles are to be painted on the wall or floor. The surface has a satin matt finish.
The Matt Varnish variant creates a matt look for your vintage furniture. It gives you completely matt, velvety-looking surfaces. This lacquer quality is suitable for indoor use.
In the LittlePomp children's collection, MissPompadour offers two shades of green in chalk varnish quality: Green & Magical and Green & Gentle, two enchanting shades of green that have been specially developed for children.
In the CosyColours chalk varnish collection you will also find various soft green shades - from the light Aquaton Fairy Green to the dark Mystic Lake Green.
Frequently asked questions about painting with green coloured paint
- What is the difference between coloured paint, wood paint and acrylic paint?
Coloured varnishes are all coloured varnishes. Wood varnish is a varnish that is suitable for varnishing wood. Acrylic varnish is a varnish whose binder consists of acrylic resins. The acrylic can either be dissolved in a solvent or dispersed in water. - Which varnish to use outdoors?
The MissPompadour Eggshell Varnish quality is suitable for outdoor use. - Is coloured varnish waterproof?
Varnish from MissPompadour is water-soluble as long as it is damp. Once the varnish has dried, it can withstand water and can also be wiped off. However, it cannot withstand standing water. You should therefore always make sure that water can run off painted surfaces easily. - What is the gloss level of varnish?
Varnishes are available in different gloss levels: Matt, semi-matt, semi-gloss, glossy and high-gloss. High gloss is familiar from car paintwork, for example. The Matt Varnish from MissPompadour and the LittlePomp chalk varnish are matt varnishes, i.e. they have the lowest possible gloss level. Eggshell Varnish is semi-matt. - How long does it take for the paint to dry?
The drying time of different varnishes can vary, so pay close attention to the manufacturer's instructions. In principle, varnished objects can be touched again carefully after about 3-5 hours; the varnish is completely dry and resilient after about 14 days. - Can varnished surfaces be painted over or does the old varnish have to be sanded or stripped?
If the old paint is completely undamaged, it can be painted over without any problems. If the surface is damaged or the old varnish is flaking off, it must be sanded down. - Do I always have to prime when painting with coloured paint?
Metal, stained or bleeding wood with noticeable knotholes and very smooth plastic or glass surfaces should be primed with MissPompadour To Bond & Block.
