Paint tiles in green: Freshness and harmony for the home
Shades of green are among the most popular colours for interiors - at least in Germany. Green stands for freshness and nature. However, as there is no "one" green and green tones can be very different, you can also create very different effects with this colour. At MissPompadour Paint, you will find many attractive green colours that are suitable as tile paints and will help you create a new design in your home. It doesn't matter whether you want to paint wall tiles or floor tiles.
Painting tiles green with tile paint - is that even possible?
Before you think about using tile paint, you'll probably ask yourself a few questions: Is it even possible to paint tiles? Does tile paint adhere to smooth wall tiles? Yes, it really does work if you keep a few things in mind.
Firstly, it is important to clean each tile carefully before painting. In the bathroom, not only must dust, grease and dirt be thoroughly removed, but also limescale residue from the water. Only then can the primer and varnish adhere well. The kitchen is a room where cooking takes place and therefore there is always a slight residue of grease on the tiling. Here, too, every wall tile must be thoroughly cleaned. It is best to use the mild MissPompadour To Clean cleaning agent for this. Avoid aggressive cleaners that contain chlorine or are highly alkaline. It could get stuck in the rough joints and damage the paint on the wall tiles.
A primer is then applied. To Bond & Block creates a perfect base for your varnish and promises good adhesion for your paint. Tile paint does not normally adhere to silicone. If you apply a thin layer of To Seal Silicone primer to the silicone joints, you can paint them together with the wall tiles.
Can the tile paint withstand the wear and tear that a floor is exposed to? On the floor, you should also stabilise your coat of green tile paint with To Seal . The topcoat makes the varnish on your tiles even more stable and resistant to cleaning agents. You should then continue to use gentle cleaning agents for cleaning, so you can enjoy your new varnish for a long time!
Pale green to dark green: Paint your tiles with this tile paint
MissPompadour Eggshell Varnish is not only suitable for wood, stone, marble, plastic and metal. It is also perfect as a varnish for tiles. Unlike conventional tile paint, it is also environmentally friendly and has a low odour. It is impact-resistant and washable.
Eggshell Varnish adheres to almost all tiles, although there are a few exceptions: Waxed or otherwise impregnated tiles usually cannot be painted, nor can tiles with a lotus effect.
This tile paint is available in numerous colour shades. These include many interesting green colour shades. Delicate green tones, such as Green with Birch or Green with Glacier, but also an intense dark green, such as Green with Forest, are available.
Paint tiles: Green for many rooms
Green colour actually suits every room. A bathroom can be given a whole new style with green wall tiles. With a beautiful green colour, you can achieve a great effect and bring calm to the bathroom, especially if the tiles on the wall or floor were previously patterned. The pattern on a wall tile is then simply cancelled out. An elegant turquoise green such as Green with Ocean brings additional freshness to the room. Complete your new, natural look in the bathroom with some natural wood accessories and green plants.
Please note that Eggshell Varnish is not suitable for painting floor tiles in the shower as it does not tolerate standing water. If you paint the wall tiles in the shower, you should also paint them with To Seal after painting.
Tiled splashback in the kitchen in the colour green
If you have a kitchen with natural wood fronts, a green-coloured backsplash looks particularly attractive. The combination of brown and green is simply unbeatable. But wall tiles in green also go well with white kitchen furniture. In this case, a darker shade of green such as Green with Teal or Green with Moss can emphasise the furniture. You can create a completely new look in your kitchen with very little effort, just by painting a few tiles in new colours.
Invigorating green on tiles in the WC
As in the bathroom, the tiles in the toilet can also be embellished with green colour. How about painting the tiles and walls in the toilet in the same colour shade? All shades of green from MissPompadour are not only available as varnishes, but also as green wall paints. Work on the ceiling at the same time.
Be brave and go for a dark shade of green, perhaps even the near-black shade Green with Black. Or opt for one of the expressive shades of green, such as Green with Lagoon or Green with Emerald. With the right lighting and some golden accessories, you can create a great atmosphere.
Create a cheerful design for utility rooms: Paint wall tiles green
With a fresh, light shade of green such as Green with Lime or Green with Mint on the wall tiles and also on the floor, you can add a cheerful touch to working in the utility room. Perhaps take your cue from flower meadows in nature and occasionally decorate a wall tile with shades of yellow or red.
The MissPompadour Paints stencils are also great for combining different colours and bringing the room to life with their patterns.

Frequently asked questions & answers about tile paint green
- How long does tile paint in green need to cure?
Our tile paint is hand-dry after approx. 4 hours. The colour is completely dry and hard-wearing after 14 days. - Can all tiles be painted green?
There are only a few exceptions: Waxed or otherwise impregnated tiles cannot usually be painted, nor can tiles with a lotus effect. - Can the tiled floor also be painted with tile paint?
Yes, but you should stabilise the coating with To Seal at the end. There is one exception: as Eggshell Varnish does not tolerate standing water, we do not recommend painting floor tiles in the shower. - How long does the green colour last on the bathroom wall tiles?
On the one hand, this depends on how much wear and tear the varnish is subjected to, and on the other, whether you have finished the surface with To Seal. However, there are now some customers who report that they painted 2 or more years ago and the varnish is still holding up wonderfully.
